Booking.com is turning off its BookingSuite array of tools and services for accommodation providers.
The company says the WebDirect, BookingButton, RateIntelligence and ChoicePro products will be discontinued starting on November 30 of this year.
The app store element of the product will remain, but Booking.com will end support for the platforms because it wants to "continue to deploy resources toward our core business and invest in our long-term strategy."
An official says: "We remain committed to being a global leader in travel, focused on growing our core accommodations business and delivering on our long-term strategy to bring more personalized products and experiences to our customers across every part of their travel journey.
"We are supporting any impacted partners through this transition, and continue to do everything we can to secure and deliver customers to all our property partners, as it becomes possible for travelers to experience the world again."
BookingSuite began when Booking.com parent company Booking Holdings made a string of acquisitions in 2014 and 2015.
The idea was to develop a portfolio of tools within the Booking.com management system that would be useful to hoteliers.
The acquisitions were Buuteeq (for marketing and design services) and Hotel Ninjas (reservations and distribution), both of which were bought for undisclosed fees during 2014.
They were later joined by revenue management provider PriceMatch in May 2015.
The three companies' products eventually morphed into the core quartet of tools - WebDirect, BookingButton, RateIntelligence and ChoicePro - and the app store launched in March 2019.
The store is a collection of services provided by software companies in the industry that cover a range of tools to help hoteliers with their day-to-day operations.
The store is segmented into different elements, covering price optimization, upselling, guest communications, online reputation management, housekeeping, guest services, messaging and reviews.
Each is available to owners of properties including all types of hotels, guest houses and apartments.
The closure of the main element of BookingSuite has inevitably triggered a flurry of vendors attempting to persuade hotels on the Booking.com network that currently use the platform to switch their revenue management, marketing and website operations to a new partner ahead of the November 30 deadline.
