Klook has opened access to its single-link affiliate storefront, Kreator Shops, to its entire network of travel content partners, helping creators monetize their recommendations.
The feature launched in March as a pilot, with approximately 150 "Kreators" in the Phillipines given initial access. The move is a "natural next step" from Klook's previous individual affiliate link model, the experiences platform said.
Now, Kreator Shops is available to more than 30,000 creators across 88 markets, Klook said.
The feature provides a consolidated link with all of a creator’s recommendations, including hotels, transport, experiences, food and beverage and other offerings, replacing the need for several affiliate links tied to individual posts.
Kreators can embed social-native content as part of their Kreator Shops to close the gap between online social platforms and their storefront.
"Influence isn't disappearing, but what it means to be influential is changing,” said Marcus Yong, VP of global marketing at Klook. “Follower counts and reach are only one aspect of influence, with trust being the key currency that actually drives action.”
Yong said the company has seen that evolution unfold in the Klook Kreator Program.
“Our role is to give Kreators the tools, access and opportunities to build on that trust, while giving them more ownership over how they curate, share and earn,” Yong added.
Klook launched the Kreator Program with personalized affiliate links in 2023. The program gives participants access to experiences to feature in their content, including more than 1,500 across eight destinations. To join the Kreator Program, applicants are required to have a minimum follower count of 1,000 (5,000 for Philippines and Hong Kong and 8,000 for Taiwain) on a social media platform.
"We're constantly dialing up on community-building to keep making this a program Kreators actually want to stay in," Yong said.
The move comes as two thirds of travelers who use social media have made a purchase or decision related to content they saw, according to Phocuswright’s F is for Funnel: Social Media and the Path to Travel Purchase report.
Earlier this year, TikTok formally announced in-app booking with TikTok GO following a test run last summer. At the time of its announcement, TikTok named TikTok GO partners including Expedia, Trip.com, Booking.com, Viator, GetYourGuide and more.
In 2024, Klook partnered with TikTok to integrate booking capabilities as part of its Kreator program.
