Tripadvisor and Viator have launched in Anthropic's artificial intelligence chatbot Claude. The companies have also expanded their partnership with Amazon, including a voice search feature in Alexa+.
The developments come as Tripadvisor seeks to make sure its “perspective shows up wherever travel decisions are being made,” the company said in a release.
In Claude, users can access Tripadvisor by asking for recommendations for experiences or hotels and then choosing Viator or Tripadvisor as a “travel partner.” Then, users can share specific details about what they’re looking for to receive recommendations. Features include the ability to browse photos, reviews, ratings and prices in chat and refine results with follow-up questions. When travelers are ready to book, they will be directed to Tripadvisor or Viator to complete the transaction.
Tripadvisor also has a ChatGPT app and an existing partnership with Perplexity.
“Travelers don’t plan in just one place. They move between apps, websites, platforms and devices throughout the planning process,” Tripadvisor said. “That’s why we’re building in parallel with partners across the AI ecosystem to help travelers make better decisions wherever planning happens.”
As a result, Tripadvisor and Viator have expanded their features on Alexa+, Amazon’s AI assistant, which is voice-accessible.
Travelers are able to ask Alexa+ for ideas, points of interest or activities as they plan their trips. Then, Alexa+ can use Tripadvisor’s content to generate a personalized itinerary based on interactions. That itinerary can be further tweaked by voice conversation.
Amazon launched Alexa+ in March 2025, with Tripadvisor and Uber named as partners at its debut. In December, Amazon shared Expedia was building AI capabilities for Alexa+.
