India-based Travelxp has launched Marco, an agentic artificial intelligence (AI) trip concierge.
The agent is currently available in India, helping travelers with trip discovery, planning, booking and payment. Travelers set spending limits, with Marco alerting the user for approval if decisions fall outside of the designated budget.
Travelers can coordinate with Marco via WhatsApp, Instagram or the website. Marco then searches for live fares and room rates and builds an itinerary before completing bookings and payment.
The agent also oversees the post-booking process, adjusting itineraries in the event of a flight delay or price change, without requiring the traveler to step in.
Marco uses an agentic payment infrastructure to initiate and execute payments within parameters set by the traveler. In India, every digital payment requires fresh approval via a pin, tap or one-time password, but Marco avoids this with the preset spending limit, allowing the agent to complete bookings within that authorization.
"This is the piece that has been missing from most AI travel tools to date, the ability for an agent to not just recommend but to transact," Travelxp said.
The agent can also oversee group trip planning, setting up a group message and executing bookings with preauthorized amounts from each group member.
"The launch positions Travelxp at the front of a broader shift already visible in global commerce, where AI systems are moving from providing information to taking authorized action on a person's behalf," the company said.
Travelxp, based in Mumbai, is a content-led online travel platform and an affiliate of the travel channel Travelxp TV.
