Corporate travel startup Comtravo has raised a €9 million round, taking its funding to a total of €30 million.
The investment comes from Microsoft’s venture fund M12 and Joop Drechsel, former CEO of BCD Travel, who joins Comtravo’s board, as well as a number of other investors.
The round was initially completed in September last year.
The Berlin-based startup, which was founded in 2015, says it is not seeking to revolutionize business travel but, instead, "simplify it."
At launch, the company received funding to the tune of €8.5 million.
Comtravo combines technology with the human touch and uses Natural Language Processing to rung email requests into queries with its system before finding the best options for travelers.
Michael Riegel, chief executive of Comtravo, says: “Compared to the processes used in traditional agencies, we see that we already process our bookings 60% faster and therefore also more efficiently.”
Lior Litwak, partner at M12 says the venture fund was impressed with Comtravo’s vision of “increasing efficiencies for both businesses and travel agents without compromising on high-quality service and traveler experience.”
