Perk has expanded its model context protocol (MCP) capabilities, allowing employees to manage travel, submit expenses and create events from their preferred artificial intelligence (AI) assistants.
Perk, formerly TravelPerk, launched its MCP last month as a way to link AI assistants with its workplace software. With the latest expansion, the corporate travel and spend management company said the MCP server moves from being an “insight tool [to] an action engine.”
Perk said users can now create and manage team events directly in Claude and ChatGPT, giving the assistants instructions to perform tasks such as setting up a team offsite or sending out Slack reminders to RSVP. The MCP’s built-in visa feature, Entry Ready, oversees travel entry checks and eVisa and Electric Travel Authorization purchasing.
Out-of-policy bookings made through the MCP server also go straight to the existing approval flow, and managers can now act on them from their AI assistant.
“We built this so customers can get insights and take action in real time, while businesses maintain control no matter what tools they're working in,” said Nikita Miller, chief product officer at Perk.
The new capabilities are live for all customers, Perk said. In September, the company will launch its MCP connector directly inside Slack, allowing users to access the same tools using existing authentication and permissions in Perk.
“The Perk Agent for Slack is coming next, and this is just the next phase of fully agentic workflows to remove shadow work and help teams focus on the most impactful work,” Miller said.
