Spotnana has acquired Troop for an undisclosed amount.
Spotnana said adding the meeting and group travel planning technology platform enables it to accelerate its development of technology for meeting and event professionals.
“This marks a transformative milestone for Troop. Our mission has always been to simplify how distributed teams come together,” said Dennis Vilovic, CEO and co-founder of Troop, a PhocusWire Hot 25 Startup for 2021.
“By uniting with Spotnana, we can set a new standard for meeting and event travel as we deliver the seamless, modern, end-to-end travel solution the market has been looking for.”
Troop’s meeting-planning software invites attendees to book travel, manages RSVPs, shares event agendas, tracks budgets and identifies ideal meeting locations. Spotnana said this complements its offerings, including travel booking and servicing, traveler profiles, policy management and payments, among others.
Troop and Spotnana first partnered in 2022 to automate meeting location selection and travel booking tech for corporate clients and travel management companies (TMCs). Troop is Spotnana's first acquisition.
Troop is available for corporations to purchase as a standalone product or within a suite of products from Spotnana. It will be available through Sponana’s ecosystem of TMC channel partners as well.
Steven Singh, executive chairman and CEO of Spotnana, highlighted the “growing trend to consolidate ownership for tor transient travel, meetings and events within a single travel program.”
“Spotnana has delivered an enterprise-grade solution for global transient travel, and Troop has created an advanced solution for meetings and events built on Spotnana’s open APIs. We believe the time is right to combine these companies and accelerate innovation across the full spectrum of corporate travel needs.”
Singh's Madrona Venture Group was the lead investor in Troop’s $8 million Series A round in 2021. He was also the lead investor in its $11 million Series B round in 2023, alongside Durable Capital Partners.
