Lufthansa Group is the latest airline retailer to partner with Amadeus to introduce its Nevio platform.
Nine Lufthansa Group subsidiaries will adopt the modular, artificial intelligence-powered retailing solution, including Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa and Swiss.
The Nevio technology was introduced in October 2023 to help airlines transition to offers and orders and later settlement and delivery. According to Lufthansa and Amadeus, the solution will allow for more personalized offers and simplify flight booking, managing and adjusting via a single order record. Dubbed the “Order ID,” the identification number will consolidate and replace the separate booking and ticket numbers of the past.
Amadeus also noted that Lufthansa Group is expected to become the first airline to adopt its delivery management system, which offers personalized services and handles disruptions throughout the passenger journey.
“Lufthansa Group and Amadeus share a long track record of collaboration that has been instrumental in shaping airline technology. We’re excited for the next phase of this relationship, which is our largest Nevio engagement to date, with a focus on modern airline retailing,” said Decius Valmorbida, president of travel at Amadeus.
“With Amadeus Nevio’s open, modular approach, we aim to deliver exactly what Lufthansa Group needs to transform.”
Last February, Amadeus partnered with Air France-KLM to introduce Nevio. At the time, the airline’s chief commercial officer Angus Clarke said the project would be a multi-year transitional process involving an investment “north of €100 million once fully implemented.”
Amadeus also counts Finnair, Saudia and British Airways among its Nevio customers.
“We are excited to partner with Amadeus to advance the development and implementation of an innovative order technology and to further improve the travel experience for our customers," said Tamur Goudarzi Pour, EVP of strategy at the Lufthansa Group.
