So much is being written about the sharing economy and it's disruptive impact on large swathes of the travel industry.
But sometimes it is worth taking a step back and recalling how, as a concept, it has come about - from the slow evolution of mass production and consumerism to the present day.
The sharing economy evangelists screech to whoever will listen that the travel, tourism and hospitality is industry is about to get spanked if it doesn't realise this threat.
The reality is, as always, somewhere in the middle - but those who think Airbnb and its kin are just upstarts who will eventually (hopefully, for some) go away should really think more carefully.
This short clip is a decent backgrounder on the sharing economy, with a few intriguing questions at the end.
