Piney, a cleaning and operations provider for short-term and mid-term rentals, has raised €1.6 million.
The round was led by existing investor Uni.fund with participation from 33East.
Founded in 2023, Cyprus-based Piney is applying artificial intelligence (AI) to an area of travel that has “traditionally run on manual coordination.” For example, to strengthen quality control, the platform reviews photos submitted by cleaners in real time and flags issues before they leave a property.
Piney said the fresh capital will be use to further develop its platform and AI capabilities, as well as deepen its presence in existing European markets and expand internationally.
“This round is about taking what we've proven across Europe and bringing it to the world,” said Nicolas Chrysostomou, founder and CEO of Piney.
“In under two years we've almost quadrupled the properties we serve, and our technology, increasingly AI-driven, is what makes that pace possible.”
Along with the funding, the startup announced it has launched in Miami, its first market outside of Europe.
“The launch in Miami marks a turning point. Home to one of the world's most dynamic short and mid-term rental markets, Miami is a natural first step outside Europe: a city where professional property managers operate at scale and demand the operational consistency Piney was built to deliver,” the company said in a press release.
Sotiris Papantonopoulos, Partner at Uni.fund, added, “Piney has executed exactly as we hoped when we first backed them: disciplined growth, strong unit economics and a product property managers rely on daily. Supporting their expansion beyond Europe was a natural next step.”
Currently, Piney operates in Spain, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, France and the U.S. In December 2024, the startup raised €1.2 million to expand in Europe.
