GlobalTix, a Singapore-based ticketing platform for the
tours and activities sector, has raised S$3 million (about $2.3 million USD) that
it will use to develop digital solutions for its operators.
The funding comes from Tin Men Capital and SEEDS Capital
and brings the total amount raised by GlobalTix to about $14 million since its
founding in 2013.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, GlobalTix says
the company has expanded from being a channel manager to also providing
technology solutions across Asia Pacific for clients such as the Gardens by the
Bay in Singapore and the Borobudur Temple in Indonesia.
“GlobalTix is seeing strong interest from our travel
partners for solutions to digitalize and comply with regulations such as safe
distancing via contactless entry and capacity management,” says Chan Chee Chong,
co-founder and CEO of GlobalTix.

“These same partners have seen clear benefits of this digitalization
effort and now engage GlobalTix to provide tech solutions that can further
streamline their operations and improve their distribution capability.”
Along with contactless entry and capacity management, GlobalTix
is working with its partners to digitalize channel management, enable cashless
transactions onsite and integrate back-end functions such as finance and human
resources.
“In the last two years, we have seen GlobalTix weather the
pandemic, and are very pleased to see the inroads made by the business in the
solutions space. We are excited by the opportunity it presents,” says Benjamin
Tan, co-founder of Tin Men Capital.
“We are confident that this additional investment together
with SEEDS Capital will propel GlobalTix further into Asia and cement their
position as the leading tech player in the tours and attractions space.”
In November the
Singapore Tourism Board named GlobalTix as one of five booking partners for
its SingapoRediscovers S$320 million recovery program. The program gives every
Singapore citizen age 18 and above S$100 (about $75 USD) worth of vouchers that
can be spent on more than 200 hotels, attractions and tours that are
participating in the program.
