Expedia Group has entered an an agreement to acquire Amsterdam-based global tours and activities platform Tiqets for an undisclosed sum.
The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026, subject to feedback and approval from the Works Council.
The online travel giant said the move “expands Expedia Group’s capabilities” in the growing tours and experiences space and improves its ability to provide “full-trip travel solutions.”
“The Tiqets integration is a key step toward our vision to build the most comprehensive, global travel solution powered by our expanded APIs, across activities, air, car and insurance,” said Alfonso Paredes, president of B2B at Expedia Group.
“Tiqets’ capabilities fit seamlessly into our ecosystem, enhancing the offerings and value we deliver to partners and travelers. Their expertise in experiences complements our strengths in scale and technology, enabling us to accelerate innovation and unlock new growth opportunities.”
Expedia Group added that the acquisition gives partners more opportunity to drive growth.
“Once complete, this acquisition will expand our activities API offering and give partners access to an even richer global supply, from attractions and museums to unique cultural and local experiences,” Paredes wrote in a blog post outlining Expedia Group's recent initiatives in B2B travel technology.
During its third-quarter 2025 earnings call, Expedia Group highlighted an 18% rise in its B2B sector, including a 26% increase in B2B bookings. The online travel agency (OTA) has previously spoken about the success of this line of business, with CEO Ariane Gorin noting that it had “another fantastic quarter in Q3.”
Gorin said the OTA saw “further opportunity” in this sector, and in the blog post, Paredes noted additional B2B priorities for 2026, such as global expansion across Asia, Europe and “loyalty ecosystems” and broadening inventory, insurance, payments and fintech offerings.
Consolidation in the fragmented tours and activities sector has been flagged as an emerging trend, and Expedia Group's latest move reflects a larger movement of major players integrating these operators into their platforms. In 2018, Booking Holdings acquired Denver-based FareHarbor, while Tripadvisor picked up Iceland-based Bokun.
