Vacation rental technology provider Rentivo reckons it will snub the money people and secure funding from its customer base.
The company says it has opted for the crowd-funded approach in a bid to raise £500,000 in the next few months to help develop its suite of services for rental owners.
In its pitch, Rentivo says:

"We’ve turned down offers from global investors because it’s important to us that our customers and subscribers can own and shape the platform."
The direction of the company, it claims, will "not be dictated by corporate investors" and, therefore, users of the platform will be offered the chance to invest anything from £100 to £10,000.
The capital will be used to boost its customer support service, develop the core technology and allow it to strike new partnerships in the sector.
The SaaS-based platform combines a number of tools and services, including rental owner website design, payment technology, channel management, third party widgets and translation engines.
The funding project comes on the back of rental giant HomeAway's recent introduction of a new commission structure (including a new guest fee), a move which has angered many rental owners and led to the formation of a class action lawsuit.
