The travel industry is forever being told about a new breed of traveler dramatically altering consumer behavior in both the leisure and business sectors.
Millennials, Generation Z - call them what you will.
But these same consumers are beginning to take the industry by the scruff of the neck in another way - by becoming its leaders, not just in the future but now.
A case in point is Ritesh Agarwal, CEO and founder of OYO, the Indian online travel agency that has branded independent hotels in its home country.
Not only has the company raised a fresh round of $1 billion this year but it also has plans to shift into other countries, such as Indonesia.
The total raised by the company is now $1.5 billion, with SoftBank its main backer.
It hasn't been plain sailing for the 25-year-old Agarwal, with India's leading OTA MakeMyTrip taking exception to the company and sparring publicly with it in 2015 amid a de-listing saga.
Younger than Agarwal is Haydn Sonnad, who is not even 20.
The college grad had a pretty typical teenage dream: a Tesla of his own. But what this Gen Z entrepreneur did next was far from typical.
After an encounter with Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk, he founded a short-haul ground transportation company with an all-Tesla fleet.
He has a fresh perspective on the future of mobility, startups, autonomous vehicles and the potential of blockchain.
Speaking at The Phocuswright Conference 2018 last week, he also perhaps has one of the most pertinent quotes of the event, in terms of how the next generation of executives think about connectivity and what has come before them: "I've heard stories about the Dark Ages when you'd buy a computer and it wouldn't have wifi, you couldn't even go on Facebook."
Both presentations are below, with first Sonnad's view on his own business and how this all may shake out over time.
Keynote/Interview: Tesloop
Then Agarwal explaining how he has grown the company in sea of incumbents and challenges.
