Fliggy, part of Alibaba group, has launched the latest generation of its agentic artificial intelligence (AI) assistant.
The assistant is powered by Alibaba’s Qwen model and trained on Fliggy’s proprietary travel scenario data and real-time transaction systems. Fliggy said it can “directly undertake complex multistep travel tasks” such as making reservations, selecting seats, changing itineraries and completing cancellations.
The agentic AI assistant can also manage long-running tasks such as room upgrades, communicating with the hotel and providing updates without requiring constant oversight from the traveler.
“This upgrade represents a meaningful step in bringing AI capabilities into the physical world. It fundamentally changes how travelers interact with our platform: Users can now express personalized needs in natural language while our agentic AI assistant delivers real, actionable services across the entire journey—from trip planning and in-trip services to post-travel assistance,” said Fliggy CTO Alex Chen.
“Looking ahead, as AI technology matures and the travel ecosystem continues to embrace it, we believe AI agents will grow increasingly intelligent, moving beyond reactive assistance to offer proactive support across every stage of the journey.”
The assistant is available across the app and can be used at “almost any point” of the travel planning journey. It also features improved memory to match long-term user preferences with real-time needs and provide more relevant and personalized support, Fliggy said.
This is the latest in a series of recent AI updates from Fliggy. In April, it introduced developer platform FlyAI for building and commercializing travel applications using its flyai travel skill, which was introduced in March.
In April 2025, Fliggy launched its AskMe AI assistant to “emulate the problem-solving and task-execution capabilities of professional travel consultants.” A few months later, Fliggy’s business travel arm, AliBtrip, also launched an AI solution.
