Overwatch AI, a startup building AI tools for airline operations teams, has raised $1.5 million in pre-seed funding from investors including United Airlines Ventures and Baobab Ventures.
The company’s platform is designed to help pilots, cabin crew and operations managers retrieve operational information spread across fragmented systems.
Users can query the platform using natural language to access information related to technical issues, airport and airline requirements and weather assessments, with the system consolidating operational data and documentation into a single interface.
“After nearly a decade as a pilot, I know how painfully disjointed many of the pre- and in-flight processes are,” said Overwatch CEO Leo Kotil. “You are trawling through various apps and systems based on outdated software, trying to piece together the information you need to take action.”
“The AI does the hard work of trawling through the reams of documentation and dozens of operational data sources, making sense of it and connecting the dots, surfacing answers and insights airline teams are looking for,” he said.
The company, founded in July 2025, said the technology is being used by multiple airlines in live flight operations.
As airlines increasingly integrate AI into their operations, return on investment is a key consideration. Based on live usage to date, Overwatch AI said its platform saves airlines up to $4 million per year and yields a 6.6% increase in crew productivity
The funding round also included Pegasus Innovation Lab and Masia, along with angel investors including former Tenstorrent chief commercial officer David Bennett and former Cirium vice president Alex Brooker.
Overwatch AI said it plans to use the capital to expand its team, scale delivery of the platform and roll out the system to additional airlines.
