The so-called New American has certainly arrived and is busily ending its long-running court battles with various parts of the industry - the latest being online travel agency, Orbitz.
The pair announced this week that an agreement has been reached to resolve all litigation, subject to "review and approval" by the US courts overseeing the carrier's corporate restructuring following its entry into Chapter 11 in November 2011.
No further details about the settlement were disclosed by either AA or Orbitz.
Orbitz (alongside 48% majority owner Travelport) has been in a long-running dispute over claims of antitrust behaviour by the carrier levelled at the online travel agency.
But the recent AA merger with US Airways and light at the end of the tunnel over its Chapter 11 status has seen the carrier settle a number of court battles in recent months.
The first case to end with a friendly handshake came with Sabre in October last year (although the pair disclosed money was heading in the direction of the carrier as a result of the settlement), followed by resolution of a similar distribution battle with Travelport in March 2013.
As with the settlement between AA and Orbitz part-owner Travelport, details of any payments being made to resolve the dispute between the carrier and Orbitz have not been disclosed.
