Holibob has launched an artificial intelligence-powered booking platform that enables travelers to discover and reserve tours, activities and attractions by describing what they are looking for instead of relying on keywords or filters.
The new interface allows travelers to enter prompts describing the type of trip they are planning, who they are traveling with or the experiences they want. Holibob then recommends options from its catalog of more than 500,000 tours, activities and attractions. Travelers can compare options, select dates and complete a booking within the same conversation.
The launch also includes an integration with Google's Things to Do, making Holibob's inventory available through the search giant’s travel discovery platform.
"For the first time, a traveler can describe what they want in plain language and walk away with a booking, with no filters and no twenty open tabs,” said Craig Everett, co-founder and CEO of Holibob. “Bringing that into Google's Things to Do means curated experiences are finally a conversation, right where people plan."
Holibob, a PhocusWire Hot 25 Travel Startup for 2023, provides technology that enables airlines, online travel agencies, hotels, destination marketing organizations and other travel companies to sell tours and activities. It has expanded its business in recent years through acquisitions, funding and partnerships focused on the experiences sector.
The company raised $12 million in Series A funding in 2022 to expand its platform and, in 2024, added an undisclosed investment from Guinness Ventures to further develop its experiences technology.
