Airbnb has forged a partnership with the Thailand Boutique Accommodation Trade Association to add boutique properties to the peer-to-peer platform.
The company says it’s the first travel platform in the country to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the TBAA.
The partnership follows Airbnb’s recent deal to bring local homestays in Thailand to the platform.
Through the TBAA tie-up both organizations will conduct training on the Airbnb platform and online skills to owners to create, manage and promote their listings.
Airbnb and the TBAA have also launched a neighborhood guide of five neighborhoods in Thailand said to be “under-the-radar.”
In the past year alone, the Airbnb properties in Thailand’ welcomed more than 1.5 million visitors creating income of $119 million for local people.
