- Mobile destination app PocketGuide picked Viator to give users access the online travel agencies tours and activities. The startup has increased the number of cities available for users to download, with more than 80 of the world's most popular now featured. Users will be able to snap up Viator's products via the app. [NB: TLabs Showcase - PocketGuide].
- Expedia's India booking site has chosen Bangalore-based RedBus as its partner for selling non-air transportation tickets. The booking tool will feature access to seat inventory for Indian bus services run by 900 operators as well as user-generated ratings of those operators. RedBus, a six-year-old company owned by Pilani Soft Labs, says it sells one million tickets online every month, with an expected revenue this year of $65 million, double last year's figure.
- CarTrawler will be the car rental partner for new European low cost carrier, Volotea. The airline will use CarTrawler to power the car hire search and booking provider on its website, giving passengers on its routes the ability to search hundreds of car agents. Volotea flies to 55 destinations including those in Spain, Greece, Italy, France, Germany.
- ClerkHotel has thrown its weight behind the slowly maturing world of bookings via Facebook. ClearkFacebook Booking is an application which sits within the brand page of any accommodation provider, allowing users to search and book rooms from within the social network. The system connects directly to the PMS of the property owner.
- LodgeNet has upgraded its mobile application to include an Interactive Program Guide. The service now allows users to find and schedule TV shows for their accommodation for up to three days in advance. The tool joins existing functionality on the app including the ability to receive local and hotel property information, complete check-out services and control the in-room TV.
