TripAdvisor, considered by many one of the busiest sites to read on a desktop let alone a mobile device, has launched a version for smartphones.
The user review giant officially launched the service across 17 of its country sites today, including US, UK, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Italy, Spain and Turkey.
In reality though TripAdvisor has been testing the mobile version for a while and claims to attracted one million monthly unique visitors already - "more than any other mobile website in travel", the company says.
The same functionality as the main site is featured in the mobile version including the reviews of hotels, restaurants and information on things to do.
Perhaps the most important part of the service is the GPS-led tools which allow the site to pinpoint where the user is located and return relevant search results.
Users will also be able to post reviews on-the-move - a situation which once again has important ramifications.
The flight metasearch engine is not included on the mobile version.
TripAdvisor says other languages and sites in its other markets will follow shortly.
