Some 72 million reservations have been analysed to discover what are claimed to be top revenue-generating booking channels for hotels.
The results, produced by channel management platform SiteMinder, show that Booking.com is considered the best performing outlet for hotels in the U.S. and Canada.
The top 15 booking channels contributed to to 87% of all revenue that passed through the company's platform during 2017, it says.
Twelve other regions/countries also had the Priceline Group-owned service leading the pack.
Expedia came second in the list in all but one of the countries - with Germany featuring local provider HRS.

Global distribution systems and wholesalers such as GTA and HotelBeds (part of the same empire following last year's acquisition) also feature in most of the top providers, with many local providers also listed.
SiteMinder managing director, Mike Ford, says the analysis illustrates the "enormous – and growing – value of direct and corporate bookings, with hotel websites and global distribution systems featuring in almost every list this year.
"Additionally, we see that hotels continue to look to the wholesaler sector as an important provider of guests, with a number of the world’s leading bed banks featuring in every list globally."
