Tink Labs has major ambitions to bring its in-room mobile device - known as Handy - to more hotel customers after securing a massive $125 million round last year.
The Handy system acts as a mobile concierge so that guests do not have to use their own device to access the web in order to discover information about a destination or the property.
It includes pre-loaded guides (via Luxos), unlimited local and national calls and promotions from within the hotel or its partners.
Hotels integrate the back-end into their property management system and guest profile, including the ability to target specific guests with content or ancillary products and attract reviews to platforms such as TripAdvisor.
Last year, Hong Kong-based Tink Labs secured a $125 million investment round from tech manufacturer Foxconn and Sinovation Ventures, with a number of angels also participating.
After securing in-room deals with hotels belonging to the likes of Hyatt, Marriott, Holiday Inn and Ritz-Carlton brands in its home region and in the UK, Handy is targeting the US market in the coming months.
Handy is the brainchild of CEO Terence Kwok, who led the development of the device within the Tink Labs incubator.
Alongside the recent $125 million, Kwok has secured additional investment of $13 million and $22 million in November 2015 and August 2014 respectively.
