More details emerging about the structure of the widely talked about Thomas Cook online travel agency, with a string of executives now revealed.
Thomas Cook is expected to give further details about the OTA (it's challenge to Expedia, as CEO Manny Fontenla-Novoa has described it) later this week during its full year results for the period ending September 2010.
As well as hiring ex-BSkyB sales and marketing boss Louise Mullock as the OTA's ecommerce group sales and marketing director, headhunters have clearly been busy in recent months, reaching out across the ecommerce landscape - in and outside of the travel industry - to fill key positions.
Adrian Land and Bas Ellen, both ex-Hotels.com, will head search and online partner marketing respectively. Land joined in September, Ellen is expected in the next few weeks.
The position of head of business development was filled by Gwenael Merlin who joined from Microsoft in July this year.
Two positions just for the UK (where the OTA is expected to take its first run under the tutelage of managing director Simon Robinson), director of supply & merchandising and merchandising manager are held by ex-Amazon head of business development for digital media, Genevieve Kunst, and Sarah Dudley from EasyJet.
A director of site optimisation and experience has been named as Joe Steele (ex-TripAdvisor). He heads a team including Gui Aboim (ex-Selfridges) as head of product and site content alongside Kathy Cotton (ex-Orbitz) as product manager.
Paul Hopkins, another from EasyJet, was one of the earliest recruits, joining in May this year as head of customer service.
The OTA will be run from London at a group and strategic level, but local teams will be put on the ground in France, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium.
