With very few mid-sized online travel agencies listed on the public markets or happy to talk about financials, Sunshine.co.uk has gone out on a limb and shared its 2014 results.
Although the numbers are nowhere near the eye-watering levels captured by the likes of the brands under the Priceline and arch rival Expedia umbrellas, Sunshine's decision to disclose its financial performance illustrates the difference in levels between those at the top and brands operating in the "everyone else" range.
"Detailed" is relative, too, but the OTA says pre-tax profits in the 12 months to August 2014 increased by £800,000 to £1.8 million, a jump of 80%.
Net sales climbed by 53% over the same time period from £34.4 million in the year to August 2013 to £52.5 million, the company claims.
Specific revenue numbers for its 2011 spin-off brand BonVoyage were not released this week, but Sunshine managing director Chris Clarkson claims net sales for the cruise trip booking service have increased by 78% during the new financial year.
Half of the company's sales during this period on Sunshine have come from existing customers, Clarkson adds.
