Vacation rental platform Holidu is continuing its European expansion with the acquisition of Netherlands-based business Gites.com for an undisclosed amount.
The deal, which is Germany-based Holidu’s 14th acquisition, is in line with its strategy to integrate local home portals into its technology platform.
Gites offers about 4,000 vacation rentals in France targeted to domestic and Netherlands-based travelers. The Dutch market is one of Holidu’s fastest-growing sources for bookings.
“The European holiday rental market remains fragmented and has many local portals built on years of trust with their hosts and guests,” said Johannes Siebers, co-founder and CEO of Holidu. “Operating across many regions, our technology platform lets us build things a regional player never could. We want to deliver innovation, more bookings and less work for our hosts and guests.”
Marijn Bom, co-founder and CEO of Gites, said joining forces with Holidu offers hosts the “tools and scale” to help deal with the complexities of today’s vacation rental market.
"It means more reach and less manual work for our hosts, while keeping the personal support they are used to,” Bom said.
Holidu said it has created an integration playbook that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to bring acquired companies onto its platform more easily. The company also said that acquisitions account for almost a third of its supply growth in 2026.
Earlier this year the company acquired German vacation rental site Bestfewo following a string of acquisitions in 2025 including Finca Mallorca and Cybevision.
Holidu also announced funding of €46 million just over a year ago.
