Secret Escapes is showing there is still life in the flash hotel sale model, buying fellow Polish brand Travelist in a bid to expand in Europe.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Travelist brand will continue under CEO Tomasz Nowinski.
Travelist was formed in 2012 by former-Groupon Poland managing director Nowinksi and covers flights, hotels and holiday deals, growing its subscriber base to 600,000 members.
Secret Escapes expects the figure to climb by a further 300% this year and another 200% in 2015.
Travelist will be used to expand the flash sale model to other markets in Europe, especially in Central and Eastern regions on the continent.
The deal to buy Travelist comes six months after the two-and-half-year-old Secret Escapes (TLabs here) acquired JustBook, also for an undisclosed fee, a move which paved the way for the company's mobile strategy.
The company launched an app for Android and iOS devices last week.
CEO Alex Saint says:

"We are already making great strides in replicating the success of our UK business in Germany and Sweden, but by joining forces with Travelist, we’ll be able to reap the benefits of their 600,000 strong database as well as their exceptional sales team.
"Our goal, as ever, is to ensure that we’re able to substantially increase hotel occupancy rates and reduce the dependency of hotels on the big OTAs."
