Flyr Labs, an airline revenue optimization specialist, has acquired Faredirect and xCheck to boost its solutions for carriers.
Terms of the deals were undisclosed but San Francisco-based Flyr says the acquisition of the two companies adds advanced ancillary revenue and fare marketing technology to its existing capabilities.
Alex Mans, chief executive of Flyr Labs, says: “Airlines deserve a comprehensive software solution to help maximize their commercial performance across all their products and across all market conditions. The acquisition of Faredirect and xCheck expands our suite of revenue management solutions and brings us further industry experience to help customers optimize for total revenue across their products.”
Faredirect uses artificial intelligence to help airlines maximize ancillary offerings as well as customize offers for passengers by examining historical data and estimating willingness-to-pay.
Niels Colémont, co-founder and CEO of Faredirect says: “Joining FLYR Labs enables us to rapidly scale ancillary revenue optimization capabilities. Becoming part of FLYR, we can offer a streamlined revenue optimization system, a need expressed by many airlines globally.”
xCheck, meanwhile, offers marketing technology for airlines, helping them to benchmark against competitors and serve ads contextually to drive bookings.

Flyr was the first company to receive backing from JetBlue Technology Ventures back in 2016.
Just under a year later the company attracted $8 million from Peter Thiel.
