EbixCash has signed a technology partnership with Amadeus as part of its bid to become a “one-stop shop” for travel in Asia Pacific and the United Arab Emirates.
In a statement, EbixCash, which is part of software and e-commerce technology specialist Ebix, says it wants access to a wide range of content as well as “scalable” technology to provide to its travel agent, online company and corporate customers in those regions.
Robin Raina, chairman, president and CEO of Ebix, says:
“Partnering with Amadeus gives us access to innovative technology that will allow us to further expand our footprint across the region.
“Our growth strategy is built on the premise of having an unrivaled ‘phygital’ presence in the region combining our physical distribution outlets in Southeast Asia with an omnichannel digital presence.”

Last year, Ebix acquired Yatra via a merger and announced the Indian online travel agency would continue to trade under its own name but within the EbixCash travel portfolio.
The portfolio also includes travel brands such as Via, which it acquired in 2017, and Mercury.
Ebix also says it wants to expand to North America in the next 12 months.
