Hotels and the private accommodation sector, led by giant chains and the likes of Airbnb, respectively, have been trying to figure out what's next as the coronavirus outbreak starts to ease in some markets.
The two forms of lodging have gradually learned how to coexist over recent years, although relations between them have never warmed beyond accepting that, well, travelers do actually like both forms of accommodation.
Herein lies the opportunity.
What if, instead of competing head-to-head, these two accommodation categories worked alongside each other to harness their strengths.
