Short-term rental (STR) company UnderTheDoormat Group has landed $7 million to fuel growth.
The round was led by Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN Group), with support from Smedvig Capital and other existing investors.
London-based UnderTheDoormat said the funding will be used for international expansion and to support development of its technology platforms, namely property management system Hospiria and B2B accommodation platform TrustedStays. Additionally, the capital will be used to “support the opening of legalized short-term rentals in Oman and across the Gulf region” and to onboard new hosts and real estate companies.

“This investment is a powerful catalyst for our continued global growth,” said Merilee Karr, founder and CEO of UnderTheDoormat Group.
“Building on the strong foundation we’ve established in Europe, we’re now accelerating our expansion across the Middle East and North America. From product innovation and AI-driven features to compliance tools and host support, we’re focused on delivering the technology infrastructure that will define the future of the short-term rental industry worldwide.”
UnderTheDoormat has been partnered with OMRAN Group since October 2022, when Visit Oman chose Hospiria as its technology partner for STR expansion within Oman. The companies said the work is “fully aligned with Oman’s Vision 2040, a strategic roadmap to diversify the economy, grow tourism and support SMEs through digital innovation.”
“This investment in UnderTheDoormat Group reflects our belief in the power of technology to transform tourism in Oman,” said Shabib AlMaamari, managing director of Visit Oman.
“Through this strategic partnership, we are creating a regulated and scalable short-term rental ecosystem that unlocks new opportunities for real estate developers, SMEs and hosts alike—strengthening the tourism value chain and positioning Oman as a competitive and future-ready destination.”
