EDreams ODIGEO has announced artificial intelligence (AI) updates, including the introduction of a proprietary AI trip planning feature and a ChatGPT app.
“We are just beginning to scratch the surface of our model's potential to deliver a hyper-personalized, frictionless experience,” said Carsten Bernhard, CTO at eDreams.
The AI trip planner will live within the company’s mobile applications. Initially the feature will have the ability to communicate in English through natural language to generate day-by-day itineraries based on user input. The tool is integrated into eDreams’ booking interface directly, giving users the ability to move from planning to booking in one place.
Meanwhile, the introduction of a ChatGPT app comes as an effort to meet travelers where they are. Users will be able to conversationally search for flights in ChatGPT with the eDreams app. Once travelers are ready to make a purchase, they are redirected to eDreams' platform.
The ChatGPT app follows a cluster of launches from travel companies including Expedia, Almosafer, Booking.com, Skyscanner, Accor and Lighthouse.
Additionally, the company announced it has scaled its agentic voice AI to handle global-level support efficiently. The agentic architecture can now process 90% of inquiries in five languages as opposed to one. The company said the transition has offered a 33% reduction in transfers and that resolution velocity is up 15%.
