Saudi Arabia-based Almosafer has launched a ChatGPT app, adding artificial intelligence (AI)-powered conversational travel planning.
Travelers can access online travel agency’s inventory—which includes more than 1.5 million hotels—in Almosafer’s ChatGPT app. The app can engage in Arabic and English, allowing users to search for properties, receive personalized recommendations and build itineraries across cities.
“Our priority has always been to simplify travel through innovation, and by bringing our services to this AI platform, we are making travel planning more accessible and intelligent than ever before,” said Muzzammil Ahussain, CEO of Almosafer.
The app is live and available for use.
Other travel companies have also launched ChatGPT apps including Expedia, Booking.com, Accor, Skyscanner and Lighthouse.
Thomas Cook is the latest to launch an AI-powered holiday search experience within ChatGPT, using OpenAI’s Model Context Protocol. The tool allows users to search the company’s live package holiday inventory through natural language queries, replacing traditional browsing of static listings.
Customers can request specific trips, and results appear directly in ChatGPT as interactive cards showing key details such as hotel images, ratings, board type and real-time pricing. Each result includes a direct link to complete the booking.
Last year Almosafer's Ahussain discussed the company’s AI initiatives during a CEO Spotlight interview.
“We've taken a pretty conscious effort to embed AI in different initiatives,” he said at the time.
He said the company had infused AI into different areas including pricing, personalization and recommendations, operational efficiency and co-piloting.
