Mews is partnering with Uber to integrate ride booking into its hospitality operating system, enabling hotels to arrange, track and bill transportation directly through the Mews platform.
The initiative was announced Tuesday ahead of Mews’ annual event, Mews Unfold, in Amsterdam.
The companies said the partnership is designed to reduce manual front-desk processes tied to transportation requests while giving hotels more visibility into guest transportation activity.
The offering includes real-time trip tracking and billing tied directly to the guest folio through Mews Payments. Hotels will also be able to access data related to transportation usage patterns.
The integration will support both staff-initiated and guest-initiated ride bookings through the platform and guest portal.
“Connecting Uber's network directly into the Mews platform is a practical step toward giving hotels visibility and control over something they have been managing manually for decades,” said Christophe Peymirat, senior director and general manager of Uber for Business EMEA.
Mike Coscetta, president of Mews, said the effort enables hotels to make transportation part of the guest experience
“Transportation is one of the clearest examples of a regular guest requirement that hotels are best positioned to provide, but not currently set up to do seamlessly,” Coscetta said.
The companies said the service could also be used for employee transportation, including arranging rides for hotel staff working late or overnight shifts.
The integration is currently in development, with a pilot expected to launch later this year.
The partnership builds on Uber’s broader push into travel, highlighted last month at its GO-GET event. The company unveiled hotel booking through a partnership with Expedia Group, along with additional travel-focused features and loyalty integrations.
Hotels, meanwhile, are looking for ways to expand ancillary services and capture more of the guest journey.
