When
Dana Dunne, CEO of eDreams Odigeo, joined the online travel
agency in 2015, he quickly announced a five-year strategy focused on mobile and improving the customer experience.
During an Executive Interview at Phocuswright Europe, he reflected on the past four years for eDreams as well as the industry.
Mobile,
he says, has become even more important than it was with a far greater
focus on purchasing - more than 70% of bookings in Asia and in the “high
20%” in Europe.
Edreams, meanwhile, is bucking the European trend with mobile bookings around the 40% mark.
A
second trend Dunne picks up on is data and how eDreams is employing
machine-based learning to harness its data and improve the customer
experience.
“It’s
a change from four years ago, and we’re still only in the very, very
early days of seeing that profligate out into the market and offering
really unique, individualized, tailored, individualized services.”
