Arrivedo, an online platform that curates things to do around hotels, has launched an API for hotel groups.
The white-label product integrates with hotel websites, mobile apps, in-room tablets and their CRM to distribute curated content to guests before and during their stay.
Hotels use Arrivedo to create personalized Neighborhood Guides, which include routes with activity recommendations around the property.
Currently, Arrivedo has developed guides for more than 1,000 hotels from brands including Hyatt, Kimpton Hotels and Marriott in 250 cities. More than 32,000 places and 8,000 experiences have been recommended via the platform.
Alonso Franco, Arrivedo founder and CEO, says the idea is to enhance the guest experience at hotels beyond a typical blog with recommendations, and help properties compete with the likes of Airbnb, which prides itself on local hosting.
Writers from Arrivedo’s network of 2,300 contributors interview hotel staff - who know the immediate area best - to curate the content, saving hotels time from producing guides themselves.

“Hoteliers are not yet positioned as great hosts. Airbnb has only one guest a day; hotels have 400 guests a day,” Franco says.
“The staff knows who the travelers are and know the area best. We shows you routes with things like favorite architectural spots - things you won’t find in Google.”
Arrivedo also works with digital marketing agencies to develop long-term strategies for hotels.
Through the API, hotels can provide guests with self-guided experiences on their website through a dynamic interface that includes pictures, maps and tagged places. Franco says the API also allows integration with tours and activities providers to facilitate bookings.
The first hotel client to sign up for the API is the Makati Diamond luxury residences in Makati City, Philippines. Franco says Arrivedo is also in talks with several international hotel groups.
