Online travel agency JTB is working with Bokun to give tour, activity and experience providers in Japan the tools to manage their businesses.
The partnership between Tripadvisor-owned Bokun and JTB, the largest intermediary in the Japanese market, is aimed at establishing distribution connections through OTAs and other sellers for the country's wide array of operators.
JTB Bokun is the first partnership by the tours and activities tech platform with a domestic OTA.
Alongside channel management services, JTB Bokun will act as a inventory management tool for suppliers and provide booking and payment tools for their respective websites.
JTB will give the platform its "local expertise and local language support", according to the pair's joint statement this week.
Tripadvisor acquired Bokun in April 2018, as part of a wider strategy at the time to help operators get their businesses online and accepting bookings via the web and intermediaries.
