Welcome to the world of travel wholesalers, where print brochures still play an integral role.
GTA (Gullivers Travel Associates), the Travelport unit which markets hotels and ground services to tour operators and travel agencies, just released a new 263-page color brochure, "GTA North America 2010-2011."
The print product showcases hotels and vacation packages in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean.
GTA says it "uses industry-leading online technology to market and distribute global travel content, including more than 35,000 hotels & apartments with instant confirmation, in over 130 countries."
To get one of the brochures, tour operators or travel agencies need to contact their account representative or shoot them an email.
For a company that "uses industry-leading online technology," it's curious there isn't a trace of the brochure on the GTA website, although much of the business-to-business website is password-protected.
Other travel companies, like Holland America Line, for instance, continue to publish brochures, but they have supplemented them with ebrochures like this [pdf] for consumers.
Alas GTA, with a more conservative b-to-b audience steeped in the practicality of print brochures, apparently hasn't gone that route.
