Airline rich content from Routehappy is now integrated in
NDC Exchange, an industry-owned marketplace designed to facilitate adoption of
IATA’s New Distribution Capability for air fares and ancillary sales.
NDC Exchange was developed by SITA and ATPCO, which manages
airline industry pricing and shopping data. ATPCO acquired Routehappy as a
subsidiary in February.
“This is true industry advancement and an important first
step as we deepen the technical integration between Routehappy and ATPCO,” says
ATPCO president and CEO Rolf Purzer.
“We have created a streamlined process for getting all
content out into the market more easily, saving airlines and travel sellers
time, money and effort.”

Routehappy’s rich content is in standardized formats – UPA
(Universal Product Attribute) and UTA (Universal Ticket Attribute). UPAs describe
an airline’s product and services by aircraft type, cabin, time of day and
more. UTAs describe benefits and restrictions by fare. Both are now available via
NDC Exchange so Routehappy airline customers can have rich content easily
integrated into their NDC offers.
“Airlines want a single source that offers a flexible,
modern and affordable solution to manage their rich content,” says Routehappy CEO
Robert Albert.
“By bringing Routehappy rich content into the NDC Exchange,
we are helping airlines provide a consistent but highly differentiated shopping
experience for the entire travel distribution ecosystem.”
Just after joining ATPCO, Routehappy signed a deal with
Amadeus. The global distribution system now integrates Routehappy content into the
Amadeus Selling Platform Connect and the Amadeus Web Services tool. This was Routehappy’s
second GDS, having signed Sabre in September 2016.
