Mobile Travel Technologies has unleashed the latest version of its M2B platform with claims that it will solve many of the frustrations travel companies currently face with mobile.
M2B Next Gen does the API integration work in the back end and then optimises the data for mobile web as well as applications whether browser-based or native.
The technology enables airlines, hotel chains and other travel suppliers to develop a single mobile platform and offer services regardless of how customers are choosing to access them.
Part of the Next Gen platform includes code to take advantage of the capabilities of devices such as the iPhone.
MTT boss Gerry Samuels says:

"There's a debate going on around develop once and deploy everywhere. There are platforms that purport to that but the apps you get are very much low-end. Rather than having an iPhone app which takes advantage of all its capabilities you get a dumbed down version.
"We're finding that more and more travel providers are having big issues with mobile. They started off with mobile web, then iPhone apps, then Blackberry and maybe, Android, as opposed to a platform-based solution."
MTT has been working on the new platform for the past year and plans to release details of a hotel company already using it, shortly.
