Analysis of mobile and tablet traffic on a leading European travel website has found Apple users are more likely to book expensive and log haul trips.
LowCostHolidays found that Android owners, on tablet or mobile, were more likely to look for "sunshine" travel closer to home in Europe.
During the last month of 2013, over a quarter of traffic on the site came via an Apple device, with New York and Dubai leading the list of destinations and other long haul resorts such as Sri Lanka, Maldives and Las Vegas winning the next three spots.
Android users were more likely to look for trips to destinations in mainland Spain, Tenerife and Ibiza.
Generally, Apple users spend on average £100 more than their Android counterparts, the analysis of bookings found. LowCostHolidays also found that Apple users make up their mind about which trip to book quicker than Android owners.
Officials at the brand predict there could be a wider change in the Apple-Android trends on the site as cheaper tablet and mobile products enter the marketplace.
Apple products currently hold a 71% share of traffic coming from devices on the site.
