As the alternative accommodations market continues to grow
rapidly worldwide, TravelClick, an Amadeus company, is launching a new data
tool that provides detailed information on availability, demand and rates for
27 million home-share listings around the world.
The “Alternative Accommodations Solution” is an add-on to
TravelClick’s Demand360 and Rate360 business intelligence products.
“The lines are blurring between
traditional hotel properties and alternative accommodations as we see large
brands entering the home-sharing space and vice versa,” says Greg Sheppard, senior
vice president, business intelligence at TravelClick.
“We believe that hoteliers cannot
overlook the pressure of alternative accommodations that are competitive on
price, location, convenience and amenities that weigh into consumers’
decision-making. Our new solution gives our customers relevant, real-time data
in an easy-to-use tool that doesn’t require a data scientist to glean the most
useful and actionable insights."

TravelClick says this is the first and
only product of its kind, which combines its data points with data from a
network of partners to provide insights into the inventory currently being
offered and what is in demand for the future.
“And it can get granular to level
of in this zip code what is around me at this moment in terms of supply and
demand and price,” says Ahmed Youssef, executive vice president
for marketing and corporate development at Amadeus, during a demonstration at
HITEC.
“We have the ability to help you compare apples to apples,
so for example, if you want to single out home rentals that are like standalone
villas to compare to your luxury suites... we have these capabilities where you
can really filter and zoom in to that granularity you need.”
Amadeus purchased
TravelClick in August 2018 for $1.52 billion.
