has an array of artificial intelligence (AI)-powered experiences, including four focused on travel.
The travel features are among 13 AI experiences Grab launched at its annual product showcase, GrabX.
“We want the Grab app to be the Everyday Guide that handles the manual tasks, so you can focus on your day,” said Philipp Kandal, chief product officer of Grab.
Powered by Grab’s AI infrastructure—the Grab Intelligence Layer—the products targeted for “Effortless Travel” focus on various aspects of travel, with a stated aim to deliver a "more end-to-end travel experience."
Below are the travel-specific products included in the release:
- "Personalized Travel Experience" turns Grab into a “travel companion” that combines travel information, reminders and navigational assistance upon arrival.
- "GrabStays," part of its Partner Apps program, is Grab’s hotel booking service. Through a partnership with AI-first hotel ecosystem Nuitée, GrabStays offers same-day room rates, through which users can earn GrabCoin rewards.
- "Discovered by Grab" serves as a culinary guide featuring user-generated food content and helps travelers discover new dining options.
- "GrabPay for Travel" will allow travelers to pay with home-issued cards already saved in Grab by scanning a QR code.
Separately, Grab recently partnered with WeRide to bring AV taxis to Singapore. It invested $60 million in Vay, a remote driving company, in November. And in October partnered with May Mobility to bring robotaxis to Southeast Asia.
