VayKLife, a guest engagement platform for vacation rentals, has acquired Xplorie, an activities provider for the industry.
The terms of the deal were not disclosed. The brands are now joined and operating under the VayKLife name.
The companies said the acquisition combines two businesses focusing on different aspects of the vacation rental industry.
“VayKLife has oriented its business towards the gear and amenities that travelers need to enjoy their vacation, while Xplorie has built an incredible business around the activities travelers want to do and experience while on vacation,” said Dan Gaertner, CEO of VayKLife.
“Together, we can give vacation rental managers a more complete way to drive demand for their properties and deliver more value to guests and homeowners.”
Adrienne Clark, president of Xplorie added, “We’re incredibly passionate about the vacation rental managers we serve and the success of their businesses. Joining forces with VayKLife strengthens that commitment and expands what we can do to help our customers compete, grow and succeed.”
Florida-based Xplorie, founded in 1996, offers local experiences and activities to vacationers across approximately 70 U.S. destinations.
VayKLife, headquartered in Atlanta and founded in 2014, allows vacationers to add things like bikes, games or beach chairs to their stay and then oversees delivery and logistics. Property managers integrate the software to existing systems, and guests receive personalized recommendations.
“VayKLife and Xplorie have each spent years earning the trust of vacation rental managers and experience providers, and the combination is a natural one,” said Christina Pai, partner at Fort Point Capital, whose portfolio includes VayKLife.
“Both companies exist to help their partners deliver a better guest experience and stand out in an increasingly competitive market. This acquisition expands the size of our total addressable market and geographic footprint, and we look forward to supporting the combined team.”
