Mastercard and Trip.com have partnered to offer artificial intelligence (AI)-powered booking experiences for the travel sector.
Mastercard’s Agent Suite for Merchants will power Trip.com's TripGenie AI agent, enabling consumers to search, book and complete purchases.
Agent Suite enables travel brands to offer agentic shopping experiences within their existing ecommerce environment.
“As agentic AI drives a fundamental shift in how consumers shop, Mastercard is committed to providing merchants with a way to build, connect and scale AI-powered shopping experiences–that differentiate for their customers while ensuring they remain in control of their brand and customer engagements,” said Mete Güney, EVP of market development for Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa at Mastercard.
The collaboration is expected to enhance the booking experience for selected travel services, including attractions and travel add-on services. The initiative will be implemented in phases in 2027.
Earlier this year, Mastercard announced a partnership with India-based online travel agency MakeMyTrip (MMT) to launch an AI-powered travel and lifestyle concierge.
The initiative, which is called Lifestyle Navigator, combines MMT’s travel marketplace and trip planning assistant Myra with Mastercard’s AI capabilities to offer travelers a more personalized experience.
