- Diving in to the finer end of hotel services for TripCraft as it creates a mobile application for owners running spas. The SpaSoft mobile app allows staff to perform service and operations tasks, such as check in/check out, scheduling and changes, reservations, treatment details, client profiles and preferences, medical information and payments. TripCraft says it has a number hotel companies poised to start using the service in the next few months. [NB: TLabs Showcase - TripCraft].
- A new version of TouristEye is now on the market (and the appstore) after a complete redesign and addition of new functions and traveller tools on the guide service. Mark II features 20,000 locations and 100,000 points of interest, include content, maps and itinerary tools which all work offline. Maps of subways, buses and trains have also been added alongside ability to reserve hotel and other transport [NB:Tlabs Showcase - TouristEye].
- Dolphin Dynamics has landed STA Travel as a customer for its web publishing and tour operator system. The implementation has meant a complete technology overhaul of its STAy wholesale business to enable the retailer's shops to access STAy's contracted product. STA is also using Dolphin's web publishing technology to launch a new STAy website enabling map-based search and supported by a content management system.
- Four in Five travel consumers always or often read reviews before booking a holiday says research from Reevoo. The report also reveals 60% of consumers are much more or more likely to buy from a site with reviews. The survey of 1,000 UK consumers also highlights scepticism of the reviews sector with 36% concerned positive reviews are paid for, 34% concerned consumer reviews are not written by consumers and 33% concerned only good reviews are displayed.
