Hotelbeds has become the first third-party distribution service to sign a deal with India-based OYO Rooms.
The bedbank agreement will give travel agents, tour operators and other intermediaries access to 28,000 hotels and units of private accommodation.
In return, OYO has a new distribution channel in the shape of 60,000 users on the roster of Hotelbeds and the Bedsonline brand.
The B2B partnership is an outlier in the continued consumer-facing expansion at OYO, including launches in Japan and other Southeast Asia markets.
It also recently confirmed a funding round from the summer of 2018 included participation from Airbnb.
OYO has now expanded to 10 countries beyond its initial domestic market, including China, Malaysia, Nepal, the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia.
Mark Redmond, head of global chains at Hotelbeds comments: "Whilst they [OYO] currently have an impressive 515,000 rooms, they’re set to increase up to one million by the end of the year and we’re looking forward to helping them find incremental and higher-yielding bookings for many of those rooms."
