Business travel-focused, accommodation rental service Mint House raised its first significant investment in the shape of a $15 million round.
Its earlier backing was a pre-seed round in July 2017.
The U.S.-based startup's Series A investment was led by Revolution Venture, with participation from six other backers including a string of industry figures such as Carl Sparks (ex-Travelocity CEO) and Tom Mangas (ex-Starwood CEO).
Mint House currently offers 200 properties (and has plans to add a further 200 this year), all of which are available direct on the website or through the usual intermediary channels such as Booking.com and Expedia.

It also operates in just five U.S. cities (Denver, Detroit, Indianapolis, Miami and Nashville).
The idea behind the brand is to offer high-end private accommodation with services and amenities that would ordinarily be found in a top hotel property.
Each property has a 24/7 concierge, smartphone-based key entry and works on a lease system from owners, with locals acting as operational handlers for each unit.
