Indian OTA MakeMyTrip will continue to operate its Amsterdam-based hotels site EasyToBook.com despite moving some functions back to India.
In response to emailed questions, MakeMyTrip shared the following statement:

"MakeMyTrip(MMT) had acquired the EasyToBook (ETB) business largely for its technology assets.
"While we will continue to operate the ETB website and brand we are in the process of integrating ETB operations with MMT India to cross leverage and drive operational and cost efficiencies.
"As a result we are in the process of moving a variety of support services from the European Office to the India Shared Services setup which has been providing efficient support to our Group businesses."
Requests for further details were met with a "the statement above is the only information we can share for the moment" response.
MakeMyTrip bought EasyToBook from Travix, the leisure travel arm of corporate travel giant BCD Travel for a reported $5 million in February 2014.
And Travix bought the business in 2011 for an undisclosed sum. At the time of the Travix purchase it was selling one million room nights a year.
Since the MakeMyTrip purchase, details about EasyToBook's financial and operational performance have been thin on the ground.
MakeMyTrip is listed on NASDAQ and the only specific mention of EasyToBook in its latest filing shows that, in the three months to September 2015, EasyToBook registered just shy of 70,000 "hotel and package transactions", referenced in a note which is an appendix to the unaudited operating data.
This figure is 12.4% up from the same period last time. The rest of the business was up by more than 100% with 467,000 "transactions".
It is difficult to build out these figures into standalone revenues or room nights. But in simple terms EasyToBook accounts for around one-sixth (13%) of the total hotel and packages transactions for its parent company, a small but significant proportion.
