Less than a month after buzz circulated that Amazon
could make a move into travel – again – one of its biggest e-commerce
competitors is doing just that.
Indian online marketplace Flipkart will now provide
travel services via an alliance with MakeMyTrip, India’s largest online travel
agency.
The partnership gives MakeMyTrip access to a huge audience
- Flipkart has more than 100 million registered users in its system, where it
sells more than 80 million products across 80 categories.
Now it’s adding travel services by offering its
consumers booking capabilities through MakeMyTrip’s multiple brands, including
MakeMyTrip, Goibibo and redBus.
